P.F. Candle Co. is an independent fragrance company from Los Angeles, owned and operated by wife-and-husband team Kristen Pumphrey and Thomas Neuberger. Since our founding in 2008, P.F. has grown from a one-woman operation to a team of over 60 people, making candles, reed diffusers, incense, and more. We believe that fragrance should be an everyday luxury, and our mission here is to make life smell better through high-end quality and affordable prices. Yearly, we donate a portion of our total net profits to local and national charities. We are proud to contribute to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, The National Resources Defense Council, and the Downtown Women’s Center. These three organizations represent issues we care deeply about; environmental advocacy, ending homelessness, empowering women, and fighting hunger.
The entire P.F. collection is vegan, cruelty-free, and phthalate-free — always. All of our candles are made with 100% domestically-grown soy wax. While our production methods have improved over the years, something that hasn't changed about P.F. products is the people behind them. All of our products are developed, produced, tested, packed, and shipped by our team out of our warehouse in Los Angeles, CA.
P.F. Candle Co. (born Pommes Frites) was founded by Kristen in 2008. She lost her job when the recession hit, and relocated to Austin with the dream of making things by hand to pay the bills. The P.F. Candle Co. signature amber jar line was launched in 2012 after hours spent on the craft fair circuit and another cross-country move. P.F. got its big break in 2013, when the line was picked up by West Elm following an Etsy pop-up. The demand from this big break inspired Tom to join the business full time, after years of behind-the-scenes help. Since 2013, P.F. has expanded from two people to a team of more than 60. From a studio apartment operation to a globally recognized brand, P.F. is a completely bootstrapped enterprise. With no formal business degrees or experience, this company has been built by the spirit of grit, passion, DIY, with a huge help from our customers that have continued to support us along the way.
